Jonathan Cundliffe

Jon is the co-founder and Technical Director of J700 Group, with over 35 years of experience in IT across a wide range of industries. Having worked in senior technical and leadership roles for large, complex organisations, Jon brings deep technical expertise and a practical, solutions-focused mindset to every client relationship.

Throughout his career, John has held IT leadership positions including IT Manager and IT Director for well-established businesses, supporting large user bases and mission-critical systems. His experience spans infrastructure, networking, servers, and long-term IT strategy with a strong focus on reliability, security and continuity.

Before founding J700 Group in 2015, Jon spent many years managing IT for organisations that remain long-standing clients today, reflecting the trust and relationships he builds over time. His background includes supporting multi-site environments, manufacturing businesses and fast-paced commercial operations where downtime is not an option.

John has always had a strong entrepreneurial streak, having run his own business earlier in his career alongside full-time IT roles. This commercial understanding allows him to approach IT not just as a technical function, but as a critical business enabler.

At J700 Group, Jon leads all technical strategy and service delivery, ensuring clients receive robust, secure and scalable IT solutions that support growth, not just day-to-day operations.

Outside of work, Jon has a lifelong passion for music and technology. He enjoyed DJing in his younger years and played in many night clubs across Lancashire and Manchester. He even owned his own record shop! Jon still enjoys all things audio, as well as cars and hands-on projects. Known for his straight-talking approach and depth of knowledge, Jon is happiest when solving complex problems and building systems that simply work.
